Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP)

What is the Simultaneous Membership Program?

The SMP program allows soldiers of the Utah National Guard (UTNG) or the Army Reserves (USAR) to participate in the Advanced ROTC program at the same time. It is a powerful training program that has many benefits and allows the cadet to decide if they wish to compete for active duty or Commission into the ARNG/USAR. Army Basic Training give ROTC credit for the Basic Course, the first two years of ROTC. Guard and Reserve soldiers can enroll in the 1000 and 2000 level ROTC courses without contracting as an ROTC cadet.
